- केवल उसी जिले के छात्र प्रवेश के लिए आवेदन करने के पात्र हैं, जहाँ जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय स्थापित है|
- नवोदय विद्यालय में प्रवेश चाहने बाले अभ्यर्थी का जन्म 01.05.2009 से पहले तथा 30.04.2013 (दोनों तिथियों सम्मिलित) के बाद नहीं होना चाहिए|
- छात्र को 5वीं कक्षा सत्र 2021-22 में पढ़ना चाहिए और सफलतापूर्वक उत्तीर्ण होना चाहिए|
- और वह अभ्यर्थी जिन्होंने 5वीं कक्षा पिछले साल शैक्षिक सत्रों में उत्तीर्ण/ अध्यन कर चूका है, वह प्रवेश परीक्षा में बैठने के लिए पात्र नहीं हैं|
